However, one of the sisters in the nursing school recognized the letters Carol was receiving from other religious congregations and arranged an interview for her with the general superior of the Sisters of St. Agnes. Patricia was born in Lomira, Wisconsin, on December 17, 1937, the daughter of George Nicholaus Reiser and Genevieve Johannah Seiler Reiser. They thrived there, and the girls grew up as one close-knit family. In 8th grade, she sensed a call to religious life, yet relieved that her father thought she was too young to go to the convent, she attended Kaukauna High School taking classes required for the nursing field. Service in LAMP was energizing and thoroughly engaging for her. While serving in these various roles, Sister Grace Ann also enjoyed the community life experiences she shared with other CSA sisters living and ministering in the Mobile area. In 1944 she entered St. Agnes School of Nursing, Fond du Lac, Wisconsin, receiving her diploma in 1947. After returning to Nicaragua in 1951, Sister taught primary students and was a catechist for 26 years in Managua, Puerto Cabezas, Rosita and Waspam.
